WARP - 01
WARP-01 is an experimental game in VR revolving around Glitch Art, Brutalism and other Contemporary Art movements. The player has to explore a structured building where he will interact with Glitches in order to bring back life and chaos to this world.
The gameplay takes advantage of the CAVE’s technology to offer the opportunity to touch glitches and to manipulate them directly in order to use them and to transform the environment in experimentation-based situations.
This game has been developed on Unity by a team of six students as our final student's project from October 2015 to June 2016.
My tasks :
- Game designer
I was one of the first person to work on the project WARP-01, and thus took part in every step of the game’s conception from the earliest concept to the ongoing conception of game levels and tweaking. My main focus was to create mechanisms and situations fitting with the unique device and all its specificity, including the VR or the Motion tracking.
- Level designer
I was the main level designer for the project. For every level, I designed the situations, the gameplay and mechanisms involved, the narrative behind the level and the environment’s general architecture.
- Scripting assistant
The project WARP-01 required a lot of scripting because every game situation involves a new glitch with specific behaviour and mechanisms. I took part in the glitchs’ scripting along with the others programmers.
